Concerns Mount Over Illness Outbreak at Amada Colossos Resort in Rhodes

We have been contacted by a former client, Miss Hatcher, in a holiday sickness claim after she and her partner fell ill during a stay at the Amada Colossos Resort in Rhodes. This comes just weeks after successfully concluding a previous claim on her behalf related to another holiday illness.

While Miss Hatcher and her partner are still abroad, their symptoms are consistent with food poisoning. At this stage, no specific pathogen has been confirmed, but the nature and timing of their illness closely mirror multiple TripAdvisor reviews from other guests reporting gastric issues at the same hotel.

Multiple Reports of Illness at the Same Resort

In the last month, we’ve seen three separate reviews from guests who stayed at Amada Colossos describing severe symptoms including vomiting, diarrhoea, and stomach cramps.  In some cases, guests were forced to seek medical help or abandon their holidays altogether.

One recent reviewer wrote: “Food poisoning, terrible stomach aches, and I found hair in my food four times. My girlfriend even found a piece of plastic in hers.”

Another commented: “We caught a vomiting bug on our last day. The receptionist and doctor confirmed other guests were affected too. It ruined the end of our holiday and the hotel never followed up or informed anyone.”

These repeated reports are raising serious concerns about food hygiene and safety protocols at the Amada Colossos Resort.

Hotel Guests Speaks Out’

Speaking from Rhodes, Miss Hatcher shared: “I can’t believe we’re going through this again. After what we experienced last time, we were extra cautious. But even then, we both fell seriously ill. It’s not just upsetting, it’s completely avoidable, and I want to make sure other holidaymakers don’t go through the same thing.”

Legal Comment from Oliver Linton

Oliver Linton, who represented Miss Hatcher in her previous holiday sickness claim commented: “This isn’t just one isolated case. When we see a pattern of reviews, first-hand accounts, and repeat incidents involving our clients, it’s a red flag that must be taken seriously. Resorts and tour operators have a legal duty of care under the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018. If guests are falling ill due to hygiene failings, they may be entitled to make a claim.”
