At Least 18 Guests Reportedly Ill at Jaz Aquamarine Hurghada

We’re investigating an illness outbreak at Jaz Aquamarine Hurghada after at least 18 guests reportedly believed to have been taken ill.

Reports of Widespread Illness Among Holidaymakers

We’ve launched an investigation into a suspected outbreak of illness at the Jaz Aquamarine resort in Hurghada, Egypt, after being contacted by Maria Kane, a holidaymaker who suffered serious illness during her stay in early June.

Maria experienced diarrhoea, vomiting, and stomach cramps, and told us her two young granddaughters also fell ill with similar symptoms. What was supposed to be a special family holiday quickly turned into a distressing ordeal.

“I Spent Most of the Holiday in the Bathroom”

A British holidaymaker who contacted us to pursue a holiday sickness claim described the experience as “horrendous and exhausting,” with her symptoms beginning just days into her trip.

“I spent most of the holiday in the bathroom. I couldn’t keep anything down. My granddaughters also became really poorly, and it was awful not being able to enjoy the time we had planned together as a family,” she told us.

“You don’t expect this from a five-star resort. We paid good money expecting a clean and safe environment, instead, we got illness and misery.”

Since returning home, the lady has been in contact with four other families who were also staying at the hotel – around 18 people in total, all believed to have suffered from similar gastrointestinal symptoms.

A History of Complaints at Jaz Aquamarine

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time we’ve received complaints about Jaz Aquamarine Hurghada. In previous years, we’ve investigated similar outbreaks of illness at this resort.

In one past case, we successfully secured £15,000 in compensation for a group of six British holidaymakers who also became unwell during their stay at the same hotel.

These repeated incidents raise serious concerns about the resort’s hygiene and food safety standards and we believe guests should be properly protected and compensated when things go wrong.

Our Investigation Is Ongoing – We Want to Hear From You

We’re currently gathering information from all affected holidaymakers and will be carrying out a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding these illnesses. If hotel standards were not properly maintained, we’ll be working hard to ensure affected holidaymakers receive the justice and compensation they deserve.

If you or your family became ill while staying at Jaz Aquamarine Hurghada, we want to hear from you.
