Legal Investigation Begins After Guests Report Illness at Eftalia Village

We are representing a number of British holidaymakers who became seriously unwell after staying at Eftalia Village in Turkey, with several of our clients requiring hospital treatment after developing gastroenteritis during or shortly after their holiday.

What should have been a relaxing break quickly turned into a distressing experience for many families. Guests have reported suffering severe gastrointestinal symptoms, with some requiring emergency medical attention abroad before continuing their recovery after returning to the UK.

Our specialist holiday illness solicitors are now investigating these cases and gathering evidence to establish the circumstances surrounding the reported illnesses.

If you or someone in your party became ill during a stay at Eftalia Village, you may be entitled to pursue a compensation claim.

To receive expert legal advice and find out whether you could claim compensation, call us today on 0161 813 2131, complete our online contact form to request a call back, or speak to one of our legal representatives using our live chat service.

Several Guests Required Hospital Treatment

We are currently acting for guests who have reported symptoms consistent with gastroenteritis while staying at the resort, with some becoming so unwell that they required hospital treatment during their holiday.

Gastroenteritis can develop rapidly and cause severe symptoms including persistent diarrhoea, vomiting, stomach cramps, abdominal pain, dehydration and fever. For some holidaymakers, these symptoms were serious enough to require urgent medical care, cutting their holidays short and leaving them facing unexpected medical expenses and ongoing recovery once home.

Where illness is linked to failures in food hygiene, water quality or other aspects of hotel health and safety, affected guests may have grounds to pursue compensation. As part of our investigation, we are speaking with those affected and gathering evidence to establish what happened.

Oliver Linton Comments

Oliver Linton of Holiday Claims Bureau said: “No one books a holiday expecting to spend time in hospital instead of making memories with their family.

We are representing guests who have reported developing gastroenteritis after staying at Eftalia Village, with some requiring hospital treatment during their holiday.

We are now investigating the circumstances surrounding these reports, and we would encourage anyone else who became ill at the resort to seek independent legal advice so they understand their rights.”

This Isn’t the First Time We’ve Reported on Illness at Eftalia Village

This is not the first time illness at Eftalia Village has raised concerns.

In previous years, we reported on a Cryptosporidium outbreak linked to the resort, where families and guests shared their experiences and legal action was explored. While our current investigation relates to reports of gastroenteritis and should not be assumed to involve the same cause, the previous outbreak demonstrates why reports of illness at holiday resorts should always be thoroughly investigated.
