Holiday Horror Turns Into £60,000 Compensation Victory for Jacqueline

In August 2022, Jacqueline West travelled to the Imperial Palace Hotel and Spa in Bulgaria for what was meant to be a relaxing all-inclusive holiday. But midway through her stay, Jacqueline was struck down by a sudden and severe illness, suffering violent diarrhoea, extreme fatigue, high fever, debilitating headaches, and relentless vomiting.

Her condition worsened dramatically on the return flight to the UK. Just four days after arriving home, Jacqueline’s health took a terrifying turn – she required an ambulance and was rushed to Royal Bolton Hospital. Doctors performed multiple urgent tests and diagnosed her with Legionnaires’ disease, a life-threatening bacterial infection.

The disease escalated at frightening speed, leading to sepsis, early kidney failure, and a stroke. Jacqueline was placed into an induced coma and ventilated, with medical staff fighting to save her life from the aggressive infection. What was meant to be a dream holiday had turned into a harrowing fight for survival.

The illness had and continues to have a serious impact on Jaqueline’s physical and mental health.
