A Caribbean escape has taken a troubling turn for a holidaymaker who became unwell on 6 October 2026 in connection with a stay at Royalton CHIC Antigua and has since been diagnosed with Salmonella.
We are representing the affected guest and examining the circumstances surrounding their illness. Now, we are urging other holidaymakers who experienced sickness during or after a stay at the resort to come forward.
For our client, the holiday is now associated with an unwelcome diagnosis. Our enquiries will examine how the illness arose and whether there are grounds to pursue a compensation claim. The source of the infection has not yet been established.
If you or a family member became unwell during or after a stay at Royalton CHIC Antigua, contact our experienced holiday illness solicitors for expert legal advice about your potential compensation claim. Earlier guests raised concerns about illness
In a review published in March 2026, concerning a January stay, one guest described their experience under the headline “Terrible Food. Made me unwell!” The reviewer attributed their illness to food at the resort, although no confirmed Salmonella diagnosis was identified in the review.
“A diagnosis such as Salmonella can turn a holiday upside down”
Mo Khan of Holiday Claims Bureau said: “People book a Caribbean holiday expecting to relax and return home with happy memories. A diagnosis such as Salmonella can turn that experience upside down, leaving them facing concerns about their health and what happens next.
“We are investigating our client’s circumstances and want to hear from anyone who became unwell during or after a stay at Royalton CHIC Antigua, particularly in October 2026.
“If you received a diagnosis, sought medical treatment or reported illness to the hotel or your holiday provider, your experience could provide valuable information. We can assess what happened and explain whether you may have grounds to claim compensation.”
