Aska Lara Holidaymakers Urged to Come Forward
Were you taken ill after staying at the Aska Lara Resort & Spa in August? You may be entitled to claim compensation.
We are currently acting for a group of holidaymakers who became unwell following stays at the Aska Lara Resort & Spa in Antalya, Turkey, which is promoted by Jet2holidays.
Three members of the group have received confirmed diagnoses of E.coli and Cryptosporidium, and we are investigating the circumstances surrounding their illnesses.
We are urging other holidaymakers who stayed at the resort during August and subsequently suffered sickness, diarrhoea or other gastrointestinal symptoms to come forward, as they too may be entitled to pursue a holiday illness compensation claim.
Both infections can cause significant gastrointestinal illness. Symptoms may include diarrhoea, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, fever, dehydration and fatigue.
Our investigation remains ongoing as we gather medical evidence and information from affected holidaymakers.
If you have been affected, call us today on 0161 813 2131, complete our online contact form to request a call back, or speak to us via WhatsApp or Live Chat to receive expert legal advice.
Were You Ill at Aska Lara?
We would particularly like to hear from anyone who:
- Stayed at the Aska Lara Resort & Spa during August
- Developed diarrhoea, vomiting, stomach cramps or other gastrointestinal symptoms;
- Required medical treatment while in Turkey or after returning to the UK;
- Was diagnosed with E.coli, Cryptosporidium or another gastrointestinal infection;
- Reported their illness to the hotel, Jet2holidays or a holiday representative;
- Has medical records, test results, photographs or other evidence relating to their illness.
Even if you did not receive a confirmed diagnosis, it may still be worthwhile seeking specialist legal advice. Every potential claim will need to be assessed based on its individual circumstances.

“We are currently acting for a group of holidaymakers who became unwell following stays at the Aska Lara Resort & Spa, with three members of the group receiving diagnoses of E.coli and Cryptosporidium.
“We are investigating the circumstances surrounding these illnesses and gathering evidence from those affected. We are also urging other guests who stayed at the resort during August and suffered similar symptoms to come forward.
“Holidaymakers quite reasonably expect their hotel and tour operator to provide safe accommodation, food and facilities. When a holiday is disrupted by serious gastrointestinal illness, the consequences can extend well beyond the time spent abroad, particularly where medical treatment is required or symptoms continue after returning home.
“If you became ill at Aska Lara, we would encourage you to speak to our team so that we can assess your circumstances and explain whether you may have grounds to pursue a compensation claim.”
What Are E.coli and Cryptosporidium?
E.coli is a type of bacteria that can cause gastrointestinal infection. Depending on the particular strain, infection can result in symptoms including diarrhoea, abdominal cramps, nausea and vomiting.
Cryptosporidium is a microscopic parasite that causes cryptosporidiosis. It is commonly associated with contaminated food or water and can cause watery diarrhoea, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, fever and dehydration. Symptoms can sometimes persist for several weeks.
A confirmed diagnosis can be important evidence when investigating a potential holiday illness claim.
How to Make a Successful Holiday Illness Claim
There are several steps you can take to help support a potential claim.
Seek Medical Attention
If you are still experiencing symptoms or have not yet been medically assessed, seek appropriate medical advice.
Keep copies of medical records, test results, prescriptions and details of any treatment received.
Keep Evidence of Your Illness
Make a note of when your symptoms began, how long they lasted and how severely they affected you.
If other members of your party became ill, record their details too.
Report Your Illness
If you reported your illness to the hotel, Jet2holidays or a representative while abroad, retain copies of any forms, emails or correspondence.
Evidence that an illness was reported during the holiday may be important when investigating a claim.
Keep Receipts and Records of Expenses
Keep receipts for medical treatment, medication, travel to medical appointments and other reasonable expenses resulting from your illness.
Depending on the circumstances, financial losses such as lost earnings may also be accounted for as part of your claim.
Keep Details of Other Affected Holidaymakers
If you travelled with another family or met other guests who also became ill, keep their contact details where possible.
Multiple guests reporting similar illnesses may provide important evidence when investigating what happened at a resort.
Speak to a Specialist Holiday Illness Solicitor
Holiday illness claims can involve complex questions concerning medical evidence, food and water hygiene, the responsibilities of the hotel and tour operator, and the circumstances in which an illness was contracted.
We have experience handling holiday illness claims, including claims involving E.coli and Cryptosporidium.
Could You Claim Against Jet2holidays?
If your holiday was booked as a package through Jet2holidays, you may have rights under the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 where illness or other problems arise in connection with the package holiday.
The precise circumstances and eligibility of each claim must be assessed individually.
At Holiday Claims Bureau, we are experienced in acting for holidaymakers who have suffered illness on package holidays and has previously secured compensation for clients following diagnosed Cryptosporidium infections at Turkish resorts.
For example, we have previously reported a £10,000 compensation settlement for a client diagnosed with Cryptosporidium following a Jet2holidays stay at the Titanic Deluxe Golf Belek in Turkey.
