Ramada Resort Lara Salmonella Claims: Holidaymakers Urged to Come Forward
We are currently representing clients who report suffering illness during stays at the Ramada Resort Lara in Antalya, Turkey, with concerns being raised about possible food poisoning and Salmonella.
Of the five clients we currently represent, one has received medical confirmation that they contracted Salmonella following their holiday at the resort. The holidays were booked through On the Beach.
While a confirmed Salmonella diagnosis does not, by itself, establish where or how the infection was contracted, we are investigating the circumstances surrounding our clients’ illnesses and whether there may be wider concerns affecting other holidaymakers who stayed at the resort during the relevant period.
Holidaymakers Report Illness After Staying at Ramada Resort Lara
The Ramada Resort Lara is an all-inclusive hotel in the Kundu area of Antalya, Turkey. For anyone looking forward to a relaxing all-inclusive holiday, becoming seriously unwell can have a significant impact on their trip and, in some cases, continue to affect them after they return home.
Salmonella infection can cause symptoms including diarrhoea, stomach cramps, fever, nausea and vomiting. Some cases can be severe enough to require medical treatment.
We are now speaking to affected holidaymakers and investigating the circumstances of each individual case.

Reports of Other Holidaymakers Becoming Ill
One of our clients told us that she had subsequently become aware of a Facebook page where a number of holidaymakers had reportedly discussed becoming ill around a similar period, with some people mentioning Salmonella.
Importantly, she told us that she was not personally aware of these reports while she was staying at the hotel.
We are now seeking to establish whether other guests who stayed at the Ramada Resort Lara during the relevant period experienced similar illnesses.
Online reports from other holidaymakers can potentially provide useful information, but they do not, on their own, establish the cause of an illness or prove that an outbreak occurred. We will consider all relevant evidence as part of our investigation.
One of Our Clients Has Received a Confirmed Salmonella Diagnosis
One of the five clients we currently represent has received medical confirmation of a Salmonella infection following their stay at the resort.
A confirmed diagnosis can be important evidence in a holiday illness claim. However, establishing whether compensation may be recoverable involves looking at the wider circumstances surrounding the illness.
This can include the timing and duration of symptoms, medical evidence, food and drink consumed during the holiday, hygiene conditions, treatment received and whether other members of the travelling party or other holidaymakers also became unwell.
We encourage anyone who suffered significant gastric illness during their stay to retain any relevant evidence, including medical records, test results, photographs, receipts and correspondence with the hotel, On the Beach or holiday representatives.
What Evidence Should You Keep?
If you stayed at the Ramada Resort Lara and became seriously ill, particularly if you were diagnosed with Salmonella or another bacterial infection, there may be evidence that could assist with your potential claim.
We recommend keeping:
- Your holiday booking confirmation and dates of travel.
- Details of when your symptoms started and how long they lasted.
- Any medical records, GP records or test results.
- Details of treatment received at the hotel, in Turkey or after returning home.
- Photographs or videos of food, dining areas or any hygiene concerns.
- Correspondence with On the Beach, the hotel or your holiday representative.
- Details of anyone else in your party who became ill.
- Evidence of any financial losses caused by your illness.
- Screenshots or details of relevant online discussions involving other holidaymakers.
Even if you do not have all of this evidence, we would still encourage you to contact us. We can discuss your circumstances and advise you on what evidence may be relevant.
Michael Walker Urges Affected Holidaymakers to Come Forward
Michael Walker, representing clients at Holiday Claims Bureau, said:
“We are currently representing clients who became seriously ill following stays at the Ramada Resort Lara, including one client who has received a confirmed diagnosis of Salmonella.
“We are particularly interested in hearing from other holidaymakers who stayed at the resort around the same time and suffered significant gastric illness, whether or not they received a confirmed diagnosis.
“At this stage, we do not want to draw conclusions about the cause of individual illnesses. However, if other holidaymakers experienced similar symptoms, their evidence could be important to our investigation.
“We would urge anyone affected to get in touch with us as soon as possible so that we can discuss their circumstances, provide expert legal advice and explain whether they may be entitled to compensation.”
Could You Be Entitled to Holiday Illness Compensation?
Becoming ill while abroad does not automatically mean that you are entitled to compensation. Every potential claim needs to be assessed on its individual circumstances and the available evidence.
Where there is sufficient evidence to establish that a breach of duty caused or materially contributed to an illness, however, a holidaymaker may be able to pursue compensation for the illness and associated losses.
We have experience representing holidaymakers who have suffered illnesses including Salmonella and other forms of gastric illness.
