Holiday Illness Outbreak Fears at Maxeria Blue Didyma
We are urging British holidaymakers who have suffered illness following stays at the Maxeria Blue Didyma Hotel in Bodrum, Turkey, to get in touch with us after receiving a number of enquiries from people who say they became unwell during recent holidays and subsequently required medical treatment.
The hotel has been promoted and booked by Jet2 Holidays, and we are making enquiries into reports of illness among holidaymakers who recently stayed at the resort.
Holidaymakers Reporting Illness
We have received a number of enquiries from holidaymakers who say they became ill while staying at the Maxeria Blue Didyma.
Some of those who have contacted us have told us they required medical treatment after becoming unwell.
At present, we are awaiting further information about what pathogen, if any, may have caused the reported illnesses. However, we understand that scores of British holidaymakers are believed to have been affected.
We are continuing to speak with affected holidaymakers and gather information about the reported illnesses.
What Caused the Illnesses?
At this stage, it is too early to say what caused the illnesses reported by holidaymakers.
We are awaiting further information that may help establish whether there is a common pathogen or other cause behind the reports.
Anyone who became ill should seek appropriate medical attention and keep records of any treatment received. We also recommend retaining booking documents, medical records, prescriptions and receipts, as these may be important if a legal claim is pursued.
Michael Walker’s Comment
Michael Walker, founder of Holiday Claims Bureau, said:.
“We are currently awaiting further information about what pathogen may have been responsible, if indeed a pathogen is ultimately identified. However, we are aware of reports that scores of British holidaymakers may have been affected.
“We would urge anyone who stayed at the hotel and became ill to contact us. We want to hear from holidaymakers about their experiences so that we can assess their circumstances and advise them on whether they may have grounds for a potential claim.
“Becoming seriously ill while abroad can be extremely distressing, particularly when medical treatment is required. Anyone affected should not hesitate to seek specialist legal advice.”

We are continuing to investigate the reports we have received and are encouraging any other affected holidaymakers to come forward.
