We are representing a seven-year-old child who suffered food poisoning and was diagnosed with Salmonella following a TUI holiday at Jaz Aquamarine in Hurghada, Egypt, in August 2026. The case comes amid reports that many other guests may also have fallen ill, raising fresh concerns at a resort where we have represented affected holidaymakers over several years.
We are investigating the circumstances surrounding the child’s illness and urge anyone who became unwell during or after a stay at the resort, particularly in August 2026, to come forward.
The number of other guests affected, and whether their illnesses are connected, have yet to be established. Hearing from holidaymakers who travelled around the same time could help us build a clearer picture.

Years of Illness Reports at Jaz Aquamarine
We have covered illness complaints involving Jaz Aquamarine since at least 2018, including accounts from British holidaymakers who required medical treatment and raised concerns about food preparation and hygiene.
In separate, more recent coverage, we reported the experiences of Maria Kane and her two young granddaughters, who reportedly suffered gastrointestinal illness. Maria subsequently described contact with other affected families, with around 18 people in total believed to have experienced similar symptoms. Get the full story here

Over £15,000 Secured for Six Holidaymakers
We previously secured more than £15,000 in compensation for six clients who became ill following TUI holidays at Jaz Aquamarine. Those historical cases also included a child diagnosed with Salmonella.
Our clients reported food being left out for lengthy periods and food that appeared insufficiently cooked. During our investigations, we obtained a hotel audit identifying failings in personal hygiene facilities associated with food handling, alongside medical and microbiological evidence.
TUI denied liability throughout the proceedings, and we subsequently secured settlements through negotiations. Each new claim must be assessed on its own evidence.

Michael Walker Urges Guests to Come Forward
“A child becoming ill abroad can be extremely distressing for the whole family. We are investigating our young client’s illness and want to hear from anyone who became unwell at Jaz Aquamarine around the same time.
“We have dealt with illness claims involving this resort over several years, including securing more than £15,000 for six holidaymakers. Each case requires its own evidence, and accounts from other guests could help us understand what happened during August 2026.
“If illness disrupted your holiday, please contact our team so we can explain your options.”
