On the first night of her stay, Miss A woke up in the early hours of the morning bleeding from her feet and toes. She inspected the bed and noticed that there were a number of sharp fragments of glass between the bed sheet and the mattress which had not been removed from the bed when she checked in. She later also discovered a broken glass under her bed.

Miss A had suffered a number of lacerations to the pad of her feet and toes which resulted in scarring. Following the accident, she contacted the hotel reception to report the incident and a cleaner came to her hotel room to remove the glass.
