HSM Canarios Park Majorca latest – families warn of “extensive” sickness at hotel

Over the course of the past few weeks, our team of holiday illness solicitors have been contacted by dozens of British holidaymakers who have been ill during their stay at HSM Canarios Park hotel, Majorca. Guest claims “all four of us was admitted to hospital”

Bobbie H, who travelled to the resort with his Family of 4, returned home and posted a review after he and his Family had to receive medical treatment at the local hospital just days into their stay:

On day 3, one after another, we all started to vomit and have awful diarrhoea. It got so bad, we had to pay 100 euros each to see a doctor, who sent for an ambulance straight away to a hospital 50 minutes away from the hotel where we stayed for over 24hours, all four of us was admitted to hospital and placed on drips for diarrhoea, sickness and dehydration.

Absolutely horrible to see my young children of 3 and 5 cry and beg to go home, crying in pain from stomach cramps, being sick and having drips in their arms”.

“Every day we witnessed sick on the floor”

Bobbie goes on to describe the disturbing scene as numerous guests were stricken by illness.

“Every day we witnessed sick on the floor, covered by tissue that was left for a while, without being cleaned. 

“We spoke to others who had been ill, we ecen saw another family who we met at the hotel in hospital, as they were admitted to! 

 “This is a serious extensive issue” Bobbie added.

“Family of 6 and 5 have been ill from day 2 until checkout”

This account is one of many reporting widespread sickness and poor hygiene on the review site. August guest Dian C reports that her  “family of 6 and 5 have been ill from day 2 untill check out, the 6th person will most probably be ill when we get home and spread it to our other members of the family.

“We have witnessed and got photo evidence of adults and young children vomiting in all the public places and staff covering it with sheets and paper towels, on the floor we stayed u could hear and smell people vomiting, dirty sheets and bins full of vomit in corridors, this has totally ruined our holiday, to all those that have not had the bug nor seen anybody being ill enjoy the rest of your holiday. what we have experienced, seen and smelt since arriving is not EXAGGERATED.”

Hotel staff “failed to provide fresh water”

“My 9 year old daughter was ill around 4ish early hours of the morning, I came to reception for clean sheets and was given a black bag to put the dirty ones in and did not offer to take the dirty ones, also having no euros in coins for water from the vending machine, I asked for fresh water, was told the canteen was shut, and it wasn’t their policy to supply bottles of water, and had to wait untill 8am to get water from the canteen, the hotel manager (who by the way is a disgusting vile and a bully) said he was well aware of this illness and is always repeating that it’s not the hotel.”

Commenting on the latest reports,  Holiday Claims Bureau director Michael Walker says: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of British holidaymakers staying at the HSM Canarios Park in Majorca.

“I would urge anyone affected by the illness outbreak at the HSM Canarios Park to seek medical attention as soon as possible and on their return, to seek expert legal advice, as they may be entitled to compensation.”
