Nottingham Premier Inn Guest Receives £2,500 compensation following stay

A Business Trip Turned Nightmare

In September 2024, we were contacted by Jenny from Plymouth, who had endured a distressing experience during a work trip to Nottingham. Jenny was booked to stay for two nights at the Premier Inn, Nottingham Arena, but after just one night, she woke up covered in painful bed bug bites across her arms, back, legs, and face.

“It was awful. I felt like I’d been attacked in my sleep. I was itching, sore, and covered in red, blistering bites,” Jenny told us.

The physical effects were immediate, but the emotional toll and lasting skin marks also took their toll.

Hotel Admits Bed Bug Infestation

Jenny’s employer raised the issue with the hotel, which confirmed there were bed bugs in room 110. While they refunded her organisation for the stay, Jenny was still left dealing with the consequences of the exposure.

That’s when she reached out to us for help pursuing a bed bug claim.

Representing Jenny’s Case

We took on Jenny’s case and quickly began building a strong claim against the hotel operator. We argued that they had failed in their duty of care, as outlined in the Occupiers’ Liability Act 1957 and Consumer Rights Act 2015, by not providing clean and safe accommodation.

Thanks to our expertise and determination, we successfully secured £2,500 in compensation for Jenny without her needing to attend court.

“Guests have a legal right to safe and hygienic accommodation,” said Oliver Linton, one of our experienced solicitors. “Jenny’s experience was completely preventable, and we were proud to help her achieve the outcome she deserved.”

Jenny was equally pleased with the result:

“Holiday Claims Bureau were amazing. They took care of everything, explained the process clearly, and made sure my voice was heard. I’m so happy with the result.”

Why Make a Bed Bug Claim?
